EXHIBITION AND TROPHY PRESENTATION AT EASTWOOD, NOTTINGHAMSHIRE, 9TH JANUARY 2010.
Seen here is Ian Daisley, Chairman of Bakewell Photographic Circle, receiving the Hiscox Trophy on behalf of the Circle from the Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe, Councillor John Longdon. The Circle has won this trophy for the fourth year running. The Trophy is awarded for the best monochrome print panel of four images. The North & East Midlands Photographic Federation has 47 member clubs. The Exhibition and Trophy presentation was officially opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of the Borough of Broxtowe Councillors John and Margaret Longdon on Saturday 9th January 2010 at Durban House Heritage Centre, Eastwood, Nottinghamshire. The exhibition will be open daily for four weeks to Friday 5th February from 10.00 am till 4.00 pm closed Mondays and Saturdays .
In addition to the Circle’s top award the Hiscox Trophy, members had many successes, Jim Edmondson won the trophy for the best colour print, 2 Selector’s Choice awards, & 2 Certificates of Merit for colour prints.Ian Daisley won a Selector’s Choice award in the Natural History projected image section and a Certificate of Merit in the Monochrome Print section. Les Nixon won a Highly commended in the Monochrome Print section and a Certificate of Merit in the Colour Print section, & Jonathan Reed won a Highly Commended in the Colour Print section. In addition to these awards, Jim Edmondson, Ian Daisley, Les Nixon, Keith Allchin, Hilary Tann, & Meg Jullien had acceptances, making a total of 23 awards and acceptances from a total entry of 107 from 10 members.
