How to enter your images

All images and titles for club competitions should be sent by email to chris.swaap@ncap.co.uk by the Sunday prior to the competition night.

Please bring your prints with you on the night.

Preparing images for projection

Images that will be displayed using our digital projector will need to be resized from the original files that are usually very large.

In line with current national competitions please size your images to 1400 (W) x 1050 (H) pixels. Some people often quote a recommended DPI, however this is irrelevant when projecting images so you don't need to worry about it.

Please Note - Where your image does not fit the aspect ratio above (such as portrait shots) then you need to restrict the height to the standard 1050px and fill the remaining frame (using black or some suitable colour) to the 1400px. This is to avoid distortion when displayed. For example 1000px (W) * 1040px (H) will be elongated to 1400px * 1040px when displayed. This will of course distort the picture.

Preparing your prints

All prints for club competitions should be a maximum size of 500 mm x 400 mm.
We would recommend that regardless of the format of your actual print, that the full size is used which keeps all the sizes very standard and easier to handle.
Almost all people choose to use a mount of 500 x 400 and have an appropriate aperture within which to display the actual print.
